Senior Financial Analyst (Raleigh, NC)

Occupational Summary: 

This position is a senior level Analyst that will provide professional accounting and financial-related advisory services to investor-owned utility companies, municipal utilities, and electric cooperatives. Services include:

  • Preparation of pro forma income statements and determination of revenue requirements for Cost-ofService studies;
  • Assist in preparation of Financial planning and forecasting
  • Provide Cost/benefit analysis;
  • Prepare technical financial and rate-related reports;
  • Prepare and be able to give presentations on technical issues before the staff of Company’s clients

This position reports to the Vice President of Rates. This position may temporarily, or an ongoing basis, direct the activities of others as determined appropriate by supervisory personnel.

Position responsibilities include:Assist in development of plans, specifications and inspection reports.

  • Must have a thorough working knowledge of utility rates, cost allocation methodologies and regulatory accounting procedures.
  • Must be able to understand, develop, and provide comparisons of alternate rate design options.
  • Must be able to develop and input data in worksheets, retrieve and manipulate data used for billing, load forecast, financial planning, and engineering.
  • Must understand the technological, market, and commercial trends driving the current utility industry transformation.

Transmission Designer (Raleigh, NC)

Occupational Summary: 

Designer is a position within the Transmission Line Engineering team to perform related engineering tasks and provide technical expertise to solve design problems under close supervision. Project Engineer II - System Planning Division (Raleigh, NC)

Occupational Summary: 

Project Engineer II is a position within the System Planning and Studies team to perform related engineering analysis necessary in power utility planning. Project Engineer II performs a variety of tasks, providing technical expertise and leadership to solve design problems, complete electrical system studies, and manage individual project tasks under some supervision. Incumbents are expected to perform a variety of routine and complex tasks to solve power utility design problems, effectively communicate within the design and project management team, and provide technical guidance on unusual or complex problems to comply with applicable standards, such as the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and NEC as applicable. This position reports to the Manager of System Studies.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Project Engineer II works under some supervision; however is expected to accurately produce required results without specific direction in a timely fashion. At this level, the Project Engineer II shall be proficient in basic system analysis/studies scope and scheduling, understand transmission and distribution analysis criteria, and be able to effectively communicate inadequacies in information provided by others and offer recommendations to comply with applicable standards.
  • Be an active leader in the modeling, planning and evaluation of Client transmission and distribution overhead/underground power distribution systems to ensure that the needs of the Client are met in the most economical and effective manner. Project Engineer II is also expected to conduct accurate and efficient reviews of work completed by peers in support of company commitment to quality.

  • Participate in System Coordination Studies utilizing CYME - CYMTCC software (Eaton Corp.) to input TCC curves and evaluate selective coordination between Over Current Protective Devices (OCPDs).
  • Incumbent is able to manage some to all stages of system analysis, including schedule and budget, with supervision.
